Another NHU-PAC outage

This morning's restart hit a snag and we need to try it again. The NHU-PAC will be restarted again in the next few minutes and will be down for about 5 minutes. Holdings Maintenance will take about 10 minutes to become available. Sorry for the additional down time.

Brief NHU-PAC outage Tue 4/30 9:15am

There will be a brief (less than 5 minutes) NHU-PAC outage starting at 9:15 this morning (Apr. 30).  Additionally, the ILL program will be offline for less than a minute around 10 a.m.

Brief NHU-PAC outage Tuesday, April 30th

Because it is last Tuesday of the month, NHU-PAC servers will be restarted between 7:30 and 8am tomorrow.  The system will go offline no earlier than 7:30am and most services should be up and running again by 8 but Holdings Maintenance may take a little longer.  Later in the morning, there will be a brief (< 1 min.) interruption of the ILL program for maintenance purposes.  Expect this to happen around 10am.

New Van Has Arrived!

Finally, we have received our new delivery van! That means we now have a full complement of vans and can return to our regular delivery schedule (see schedule at http://www.nh.gov/nhsl/services/librarians/van_delivery/documents/dailyroutes.pdf). We can now deliver to all of the Capital District on Wednesdays, since we have more than a car available. And, we can now resume the Friday Lakes Region route. They are resuming this week.

Discounted Barcodes Until May 3rd

As our first group of nhaisLOCAL libraries is setting up their new Koha systems there are quite a few barcodes to be purchased. Because NHAIS Services will be placing a barcode order in early May that will include more than 100,000 labels the cost of those labels is only $13 per thousand. (a savings of $3.75 per thousand over our normal barcode prices)

The barcodes will be exactly the same ones we always get, and the usual minimum of 10,000 labels per order applies. You can include both material and patron barcode labels in your minimum order.

This large order will be shipped to the NH State Library and then sent out via van to individual libraries. The actual shipping cost billed by the vendor will be divided among the ordering libraries. Until we get the order I don't have an exact figure, but I would expect each library to pay $15 or less for shipping.

The $25 per order handling fee for barcode orders will be reduced to $10 per library for this large order.

If you want to order barcodes at these reduced rates you need to contact the NHAIS Help Desk (271-2141) to place your order by 4pm on Friday, May 3, 2013.

You should receive the barcodes from this order before the end of May.

2012 Public Library Annual Report Deadline

Friday, April 26^th is the deadline for submission of the 2012 Public Library Annual Report.  As of Monday, April 22, 97 libraries have not submitted.  Many of these have started their report and some have not.  Please take time this week to complete and submit your reports.  The URL to the survey is:  http://collect.btol.com  If you need your username and password, let me know and I can provide this to you.
