Don't Waste Your Time

We continue to work with the NH Department of Information Technology staff to get a new holdings maintenance server in place and functioning. Substantial progress has been made this week as there is now a new machine with the holdings maintenance software loaded on it. The next step is to recreate all the various connections between that server and the rest of NHU-PAC. Without these connections in place any work you do (adding holdings, deleting holdings, exporting records) won't work.

When we get the connections made correctly the system will begin accepting login information and displaying the forms you expect to see. THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT IS ACTUALLY ADDING YOUR INFO TO THE DATABASE.

The minute that the system is ready for use we will announce it here and on the nhais-l listserv. We are as anxious as you are (probably even more anxious) to have this problem solved and things up and running again. Until we give the go-ahead please DON'T USE HOLDINGS MAINTENANCE, even if it looks to you like it is working.

The System Messages subtab on the NHU-PAC welcome screen will display the latest info about the system. If you want to check and see if it is working yet click that link and there will be a message telling you the latest news on the system. That info may be a few days old if nothing has changed--it is the latest info there is.
