Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1 p.m.: Several libraries report the Close button is missing from some screens in the NHAIS ILL System, including the Lender's Pending List. There's an X in the upper right you can use to close the screen but it takes you to the main system page rather than the Request Manager page. Auto-Graphics is working on a fix.
The NHAIS ILL System will be offline briefly tonight (Thursday, Sept. 4) starting at 10 o'clock. Updates being installed tonight are all behind-the-scenes tweaks.
Wednesday, Sept. 3, 9:40 a.m.: The NHAIS ILL System is back to normal. The program is now getting valid results from Z-target searches.
Wednesday, Sept. 3, 7:55 a.m.: At this hour, the NHAIS ILL System is not getting valid results from most of the catalogs configured as Z39.50 targets in the program. We're looking into it. Until this is fixed, it's not a good time to create new requests.
As noted here Monday, the NHAIS ILL System was offline briefly on Tuesday night, Aug. 5. It was further noted that I would write about any software changes today--but the updates installed last night were all for behind-the-scenes functions so you won't see any changes in the program.
Friday, July 25, 11:50 a.m.: If you created a request in the NHAIS ILL System between 10 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Friday, please note the following:
If your request has been filled, you need read no further. If your request quickly went to Unfilled or Retry status--and it's not a multi-copy request--try using the Rebuild Lender List function.
Friday, July 25, 10:30 a.m.: Searches in the NHAIS ILL System are now returning results from all connected catalogs. If you find your searches hanging, clear your browser cache and try again.
Friday, July 25, 7:55 a.m.: This morning the NHAIS ILL System isn't getting results from the many New Hampshire library catalogs that are configured as Z-targets in the system. This has been reported to Auto-Graphics.
You can respond to existing requests but this isn't a good time to create a new request. You can create a new request based on the search results you get from the NHU-PAC but the lender list will miss out on many potential lenders.

The NHAIS ILL System will be offline briefly tonight (Tuesday, June 24) starting at 10 o'clock for software updates.
-Lists of request titles on some pages (including Borrower Requests, Lender Requests, and Shipping Labels) have been including initial articles ("The," "An," etc.) when sorting titles. This has been corrected--but the fix only affects requests created after this update. Older requests will continue to be sorted with initial articles.
-The Search by Request Number function has been enhanced. Clicking the "X" in the upper right of the Borrower's or Lender's Full Record Display will continue to bring you back to the search screen with the previously entered request number retained--but now that number will be selected so you can immediately enter a new number (typed or scanned) to replace it.
After a staff user or patron logs in, they will continue to see “Hello, [name]” in the header.

This software update will fix the issue of the “Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046' Permission denied…” error message appearing when changing a request status. This has been occurring intermittently and required staff to update the request again if the initial update attempt didn't work. The error was traced to the volume of updates being done at the same time.
When viewing either Borrower Requests or Lender Requests (under Staff Dashboard > ILL Admin), users can scroll to the bottom of the page to choose how many requests to display per page. In the past, it has always defaulted to showing 50. Following tonight's update, the selected number of items per page will persist between sessions.
Friday, May 30, 3:35 p.m.: Menu options to add, delete, and remove holdings in the union catalog (NHU-PAC) have been restored for those logged in with usernames ending with "all" or "cat."
Friday, May 30, 1:45 p.m.: For libraries maintaining holdings in the union catalog (NHU-PAC), the menu options to add, delete, or edit holdings directly in the catalog are missing. Anyone logged in with a username ending with "cat" or "all" should see options to Add Locations, Edit Locations, or Delete Locations when viewing a detail screen in search results but those options aren't visible in the menu today. This has been reported to Auto-Graphics.
In recent days the NHAIS Help Desk has heard from a few folks having trouble connecting to the NHAIS ILL System--waiting and watching things spin but never seeing the NHAIS logo or getting to a login screen. The fix involved clearing the cache in their browsers. The steps are slightly different for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, and Opera. You don't need to clear cookies, just the cache. The NHAIS Help Desk has heard from a couple of libraries experiencing problems with the NHAIS ILL System this morning (Tuesday, Apr. 8). They report blank screens or missing buttons. Both issues were transient--trying again later (with or without logging out and logging back in) was successful. These issues have been reported to Auto-Graphics.
Regarding the "Welcome to Soutron Global" message you may see immediately after logging in, we're told that should go away soon. If you see the message, just click "Ok" to get to work in the ILL program.
The NHAIS ILL System was offline yesterday afternoon (Monday, Apr. 7) starting shortly after the State Library's 4:30 closing time. Service resumed within a couple of hours. This morning (Tuesday, Apr. 8) the ILL program appears to be working as usual but if you find otherwise please get in touch with the NHAIS Help Desk at 603-271-2141.
If you see a "Welcome to Soutron Global" message when you log in, don't panic. It's safe to click "Ok" and go about your business. Auto-Graphics announced last week that it had been acquired by Soutron Global.
Alphanumeric strings have been turning up recently in the NHAIS ILL System where there used to be either blank spots or catalog control numbers for records from some but not all Z-targets. This is seen in lender lists...
A due date of "01/01/0001" has been showing up on some but not all shipping labels printed in the NHAIS ILL System recently. A fix is currently undergoing quality checks and is tentatively scheduled to be installed next Tuesday night.
