The NHAIS ILL System will be offline briefly starting at 10 o'clock tonight (Tuesday, June 23). Software will be updated but users won't see any changes in the ILL program.
NHAIS Notes is a way for the New Hampshire State Library to disseminate information about NHAIS programs and issues. The mission of the New Hampshire Automated Information System (NHAIS) is to promote and improve access to library and information resources for and about New Hampshire. The NHAIS ILL System will be offline briefly tonight (Tuesday, May 26) for a software update starting at 10 o'clock.
-A new Undo Received option will be available to borrowers. Choosing Undo Received will move the request back to its prior status (Shipped, Recalled, Not Received, or Not Received/Overdue).
-The Undo Shipped option for lenders will be available for a longer time than in the past. Undo Shipped is an option for requests in Shipped, Not Received, Not Received/Overdue, and Recalled status and will now be available until the request is updated to Received by the borrower. When the lender chooses Undo Shipped, the request moves back to Pending status and the "Respond by" date is recalculated (lenders have three full days and a fraction of a fourth to respond to a request before it's automatically forwarded to the next potential lender on the lender list).
-When a request is placed on an item with only one or two valid ISBNs or ISSNs, the remaining blank fields for additional ISBNs or ISSNs in the request record were editable. This allowed the user to add invalid or incorrect identifiers to the request, resulting in a failed request. With this release, when there is at least one valid ISBN or ISSN on the source record, the fields will be read-only.

Tuesday, Apr. 21, 2:50 p.m.: If you were having trouble using the NHAIS ILL System earlier this afternoon--connection failure or sluggish response to searches--try it again now. Auto-Graphics restarted its servers in the past hour to address performance issues.

Tuesday, Mar. 10, 9:55 a.m.: Since Friday, several libraries have been seeing a Category column with "GUEST" and/or "PATRON" on Request Manager status pages in the NHAIS ILL System. They're also finding the column with drop-down status change choices missing.
Auto-Graphics now tells us this is something they cannot apply a global fix to. You can correct the column display yourself fairly easily but it needs to happen for each active status on the borrower side (so far we haven't heard of this problem showing up on the lender side of the Request Manager). Additionally, Auto-Graphics suggests clearing the browser cache and cookies before modifying the column displays. How to do that will vary by browser--search the Internet for "clear cache Chrome," "clear cache Firefox," "clear cache Edge," etc., for instructions. Be aware that clearing cookies means you'll lose any logins and site preferences you've saved in your browser.Still need help? Contact the NHAIS Help Desk at 603-271-2141 or nhu-pac@dncr.nh.gov.

Monday, Mar. 9, 8:35 a.m.: One of the bugs noted in the NHAIS ILL System on Friday has been fixed; the other continues to be looked at.
-Choosing the "Notes" tab when viewing the Borrower Requests or Lender Requests lists now displays expected results rather than listing thousands of requests that don't belong there.
-When viewing status lists in Request Manager, you may still encounter the "Category" column where you're expecting to see "Status":
While this issue remains under investigation you can change the view by selecting the gear icon in the upper right, uncheck Category, check Status, and click on the gear again.Posted by David Harris at 8:35 AM

Friday, Mar. 6, 2:30 p.m.: A few bugs have been noted in the NHAIS ILL System today, presumably connected to last night's installation of enhancements to request notes.
-When viewing status screens in Request Manager, you may see a "Category" column that says "Guest" on every line where you're expecting to see the current status with the drop-down option to change it. If you run into that, click the gear icon (upper right), uncheck Category, check Status, click on the gear again, and all should be well.
-When viewing the Lender Requests or Borrower Requests screens, choosing the new "Notes" button will bring you screens with way more information than is useful.
Auto-Graphics is aware of these issues and working on them.

The NHAIS ILL System will be offline briefly starting at 10 o'clock tonight (Thursday, Jan. 8) to install fixes for a couple of issues.
-When staff access a request record from the Borrower Requests or Lender Requests lists and change the status, the new status did not display after returning to the request list. This has been corrected so the updated status will display.

We are aware of an issue in the NHAIS ILL System when lenders enter a custom due date via the calendar. Selecting, say, Feb. 12 results in Mar. 12 being entered in the request form. This issue has been reported to Auto-Graphics. While we wait for a fix, you can open the calendar a second time, navigate to the correct month, choose the correct date, and all should be well.

Wednesday, Nov. 5, 9:30 a.m.: Z-targets have been restored in the NHAIS ILL System so it's safe to create new requests again. If a request went unfilled this morning for lack of lenders, you can use the Rebuild Lender List feature for an individual request. DO NOT use Rebuild Lender List for multi-copy requests. Contact the NHAIS Help Desk (nhu-pac@dncr.nh.gov or 603-271-2141) if you need further help with an unfilled request.

Wednesday, Nov. 5, 7:50 a.m.: This morning the NHAIS ILL System isn't getting results from any of the 169 catalogs configured as Z-targets. Only NHU-PAC holdings appear in search results. Bottom line: until this is fixed, it's not a good time to create new ILL requests.

The Z-targets that went offline late last week are once again returning results to NHAIS ILL System searches. Borrowers whose requests went Unfilled in recent days may want to try again. Affected libraries were left off lender lists of requests created during the outage so choose Rebuild Lender List on the Borrower's Full Record Display. DO NOT use Rebuild Lender List with multi-copy requests. Get in touch with the NHAIS Help Desk if you need help with a particular request: nhu-pac@dncr.nh.gov or 603-271-2141.

There are now 168 catalogs configured as Z-targets in the NHAIS ILL System. Since at least last Friday morning, 19 of those targets--all Destiny catalogs hosted by Follett--have not been responding to our ILL program. Follett is aware of this issue. Until it's fixed, affected libraries won't be added to the lender lists of newly created requests. For requests created before the outage began, automated availability checks cannot be performed so affected libraries will be asked to respond to requests even if the requested item is currently checked out.

The NHAIS ILL System will be offline for at least an hour Sunday night (October 5) starting at 9 o'clock. Service should be restored no later than 2:45 a.m. Monday. Auto-Graphics says they are upgrading their central database systems to a more recent version. "This maintenance is necessary to perform critical updates and optimizations, including: Applying security patches to protect against vulnerabilities; Improving system performance and reliability; Conducting routine health checks to prevent unplanned outages." The work was originally scheduled for last weekend.
