Implementation Time Line

Here is the schedule for rolling out the New NHAIS ILL System:

Friday, September 20, 2019

Deadline (extended from 9/3/19) to upload a holdings file for loading into the new system before go-live. This applies ONLY to libraries that chose to maintain holdings in the Union Database (as opposed to connecting their local system as a Z-target via Z39.50) AND to use holdings from their local systems rather than existing NHU-PAC records. If we don’t receive a file from your library by this deadline we will use the existing NHU-PAC holdings until an updated file can be processed after the go-live.

Tuesday, September 24, 2019
Wednesday, September 25, 2019
Thursday, September 26, 2019
Live online training will be conducted by Auto-Graphics: ILL in the morning, Holdings Maintenance (for libraries who are NOT using Z39.50 to maintain holdings), and a session on Patron Initiated ILL Requests in the late afternoon for those libraries that submitted SIP2 configuration info. The same 3 live online trainings will be offered each day.

Friday, September 27, 2019 through Friday, October 4, 2019
People who have attended the Auto-Graphics training will be given temporary passwords that can be used to practice ILL functions in the new system during this period. This will also provide an opportunity for staff at each library to show their co-workers what they learned in training.

Friday, October 4, 2019 at 5pm
ALL interlibrary loan transactions will be deleted from the NHAIS ILL system and the temporary passwords will be deactivated in preparation for the launch of the system.

Monday, October 7, 2019
Login credentials for using the live system will be sent, via email, to the LIBRARY DIRECTOR of each library that has been profiled AND from which someone has attended ILL training. There will be one set of login credentials for each library and it will be up to each library director to decide who is authorized to have them for their library.

Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 9am
The official start of the New NHAIS ILL System. If your library is sent login credentials on 10/7/2019 your library's obligations under the NHAIS ILL Agreement begin at this time.
Monday, October 14, 2019
Union Catalog participants will be able to send updated files of holdings as of today. Details on how to do this and what files should be sent will have been covered in the online training sessions.

Thursday, October 31, 2019
A set of videos (which NHSL will be creating in the live system after the initial launch)  with a self-guided training check-list will be released. This will allow libraries who were profiled but from which no one attended training to learn how to use the system and get credentials to be activated and it will also allow staff to review specific areas of training and to train additional staff people.

If you have concerns or questions about how this implementation is being rolled out please contact State Librarian Michael York.
