Fixes and enhancements for Thurs. 11/12

The NHAIS ILL System will be offline for up to 15 minutes starting at 10 o'clock tonight (Thursday, Nov. 12) to install numerous fixes and enhancements:

-Numbers that weren’t part of the search term were displaying in front of “Related” suggestions. The unnecessary numbers will no longer display.

-As with Related terms (above), searches that resulted in zero results due to a misspelling displayed a list of “Did You Mean” suggestions that were prefaced with numbers.

With this release, a phonetic lookup will be done if there is not an exact match for the entered term and a suggested term will be displayed with records that match the suggestions.

-The Advanced Search function can be used without a search term if the union catalog (NHU-PAC) is selected as a resource; if only Z-targets are selected, a search term is required. With this release, if only Z-targets are selected, the user will see a notification message saying, “Please enter a search term to start searching” rather than conducting a search that will have zero results.
-If a user opened the Search Resources list ("stack o' pancakes" icon) and then clicked the Please Login button, it seemed like nothing happened because the Search Resources window remained open. The user had to know to close that window to see the login form. This has been corrected: if the Search Resources window is open when the user clicks the Please Login button, the window will close so the login form is visible.
-Two cosmetic display issues have been corrected:
1. In Gallery view, the Request icon wasn’t aligned properly in the grid so has been moved up.
2. On the request form, the Submit and Cancel buttons have been adjusted to remove the shadow line and separate the buttons.
-Patrons were unable to change their e-mail address in their account profile; a “Saved” change didn’t update their record as expected. This was caused by the system expecting First/Middle/Last Name fields to be active, so if, for example, a middle initial wasn’t entered, no changes were saved. This has been corrected.
-Longer library names appearing in the top left of the screen sometimes wrapped to the next line (depending on screen magnification) and overlapped the Home Page icon. Alignment of the library name text has been improved to reduce this problem.
-Authenticating federated search users was resulting in an “Unable to Authorize User!” error when attempting to log in after performing a search. This was due to a caching problem and has been corrected.
-The lender list build process will now consider field 008 position 23 (form of item for most formats except maps and visual materials) for better matching on certain formats. This will allow SHAREit to distinguish books from eBooks and avoid the problem of requests including both formats.
-In the full record display, the 856 MARC tag will show the text in subfield y (Link text) when entered in the record rather than the URL in subfield u (Uniform Resource Identifier).

Full record display based on above MARC record:

If subfield y is not present, the URL in subfield u will display:
