ILL enhancements and fixes coming Tuesday night
There's a significant change coming to the way lender lists are built for requests placed in the NHAIS ILL System. The lender list validation process will no longer require a match on title and author if there is a match on a standard numeric identifier (ISBN, ISSN, LCCN). This change will allow records with minor differences to be included in the lender list.
Note that the leader and format validation will still occur. Also, if a Z-target doesn’t support a standard numeric search such as LCCN, the process will continue to look for a match on title and author.
This enhancement will be installed to the NHAIS ILL System tonight (Tuesday 4/21) starting at 10 o'clock. The system will be unavailable for about 15 minutes during installation. Here are other changes and fixes that are part of this update:
-ISBN processing changes were made to increase matching and retrieval of cover art for OPAC displays.
-If third-party content (e.g., Syndetics cover art) isn’t accessible due to a problem at the vendor site, users will see a message stating “Unable to display enhanced content at this time.” This message will display if third-party servers don’t respond within 15 seconds.
-The message indicating the item is “Owned by My Library” was not displaying when users placed requests from the Gallery view. This has been corrected and the “Owned by My Library” message will display for all users regardless of view.
-When running Activity and Request Reports, the In Process Grand Total displayed as zero even if there were items with an In Process status at listed libraries. This occurred because the report only displayed positive values. The calculation for In Process includes the Will Not Supply status; because one request can move to more than one library and have multiple Will Not Supply actions associated with it, the In Process Grand Total may be a negative value. The reports have been adjusted for this and the actual In Process Grand Total will display as a negative number rather than zero.
-When using the Permanent Link from the full record, fewer owning libraries were listed than were listed on the original record. This has been corrected and the correct number of owning libraries will be included when accessing a record via a Permanent Link.
-Users were unable to edit Your Profile in Your Account even when Configure User Record settings were enabled. The code has been adjusted to allow users to make and save changes to their profile.
-When using the Edge browser, there were spacing problems in Quick Links that have been corrected. Additional Edge updates will be documented and announced in future release notes.
