Van Service Resuming on 9/21/2020
As you all know, starting Tuesday, September 15, libraries will be able to resume placing requests in the NHAIS ILL system. The state library has also established a policy requiring ILL items to remain in quarantine for at least 72 hours before they are picked up by the van. We will therefore resume regular van service on Monday, September 21 so as to begin a full week of deliveries after the required 72 hour quarantine period.
With very few exceptions (and those libraries were contacted directly) NHSL will be following the same van schedule as we were before service was suspended. Based on the ILL survey and our recent returns of outstanding ILLs, it appears the majority of libraries are able to receive deliveries on their usual schedule.
One more thing to mention: with the resumption of van delivery, we will also act as a waypoint for the NHCUC libraries. So if you have transactions with any of the colleges that are part of NHCUC, you can use the van service to send & receive those items, too.
Questions about van delivery should be directed to Charles Shipman, Supervisor, Reference Services, NHSL at 603-271-3302 or Charles.shipman@dncr.nh.gov
