ILL Quarantine Clarification

There are several libraries around the state that act as drop-off points for other libraries that don’t have direct van service.  I’d like to clarify the state library’s quarantine policy for those libraries and the smaller libraries that drop their material off.

As long as the library dropping items off has quarantined their material for 72 hours at their own library, we are fine with you putting that material directly in the “host” library’s outgoing van bin.  The host library does not have to manage a quarantine schedule for the libraries that drop off ILL material to them.  (It’s enough of a headache managing your own quarantine schedules as it is!)

So for example, Stratham is the drop-off point for Newfields and Newington.  As long as Newfields and Newington quarantine their ILL material for 72 hours, they can bring that material to Stratham and it can go directly into the outgoing bin.  Stratham does not need to quarantine those items.

Thank you all for your patience as we make our way through these difficult times.
