Patron requests from lists

For libraries that allow patron-initiated requesting, a new function is on its way: patrons will be able to create requests singly or in a batch from lists. This will be implemented after an update to the NHAIS ILL System is applied tonight (Thursday, Oct. 1) starting at 10 o'clock. The system should be offline for no more than 15 minutes.

Currently the Your List feature has buttons for Delete, Print, Email (not shown in the example above), and Save. Starting soon, a Request button will be added only for those libraries allowing patron-initiated requests. Some notes on this feature:

-Users need to select titles to request by checking the boxes to the left of the cover images before clicking the Request button.
-The patron information will be included, as on any request, along with the ability to add a Note, and check “Is Any Edition Acceptable,” plus copy information if the request is being placed on a non-returnable format.
-The library’s Borrowing Policies will be checked to verify that the patron can request that item; if not, the request will not be allowed.
-The limit for batch requests is 5; if more are selected, a message will display stating “Please select at most 5 items.”
