New "undo" options plus other enhancements and fixes Thurs. 6/3

Have you noticed lately that publisher and date information isn't showing for search results in merged view or brief record displays? That will be fixed tonight when the NHAIS ILL System gets another software update. The system will be offline starting at 10 p.m. and should be back in operation within 15 minutes.

Another fix coming tonight involves the Download Cart. The View Download Cart page has lately been showing records added to the cart as "Unknown" and not allowing them to be downloaded. This has been corrected so records will display and function properly in the Download Cart. Existing “Unknown” records will need to be selected and removed from the Download Cart.

Tonight's update introduces two new "undo" options, with more to come in future releases. The new options allow the borrowing library that initiated the request to change back the status of requests in Renew Pending or Cancel Shipped Request status. The undo status options will be available for 7 calendar days after the initial status change of the request. If more than 7 days have passed, or if the status has changed (e.g., a request for a renewal has been accepted or rejected by the lender), the undo option will no longer be available for that request. The new undo status options will be available from the status request list for individual or batch updating and from the Borrower’s Full Request Record Display.

Renew Pending is found in the borrower's "Items awaiting trading partner response" area. Choosing Undo Renewal will revert the request to its previous status such as Received or Overdue.

When the lender has sent an item and it is in Shipped status, the borrower can choose Cancel Shipped Request if the item is no longer needed. If the cancellation request is placed in error, the borrower will now be able to open the list of requests in Cancel Shipped Request status and select the Undo Cancel Shipped Request option. This action will revert the request to Shipped status so it can be received and processed as usual.

There's one more enhancement coming with tonight's release: if you've added SHAREit User Guides to your Quick Links, the link will now show as "SHAREit User Guides" rather than just "SHAREit." The guides are available under Staff Dashboard > Support and include some information which doesn't apply to the NHAIS ILL System.
