New Undo Lost option
The expansion of "undo" functions in the NHAIS ILL System continues with the introduction of an Undo Lost option. This feature is part of a program update being installed tonight (Thursday, Aug. 12). The system will be offline for up to 15 minutes starting at 10 o'clock tonight to allow for installation.
If a request has been marked Lost in error, the lender will now have the ability to choose Undo Lost.
-The Lost status is in the lender’s Action items list.
-The action will revert the request to its previous status.
-The request's history information will include a status change of Undo Lost.
-The option is available to the lender, who may undo requests they put in Lost status as well as requests put into Lost status by the borrower.
-Undo Lost counts will be included as a new column in the Activity and Request Reports for Borrowing Activity and Lending Activity, immediately following the Lost count.
-The lender ability to apply Undo Lost will be effective for requests marked Lost after tonight's update. Requests that were marked Lost prior to the update will not be able to be marked Undo Lost.
Also part of tonight's program update are enhancements to simplify the process logged-in patrons see when downloading an attachment on their Items from Other Libraries page under Your Account. This applies to requests for non-returnable materials such as copies of magazine articles.
Hovering over the information icon will display:
• Upload Date
• Expiration Date
• number of Downloads Remaining
Clicking the download link will display:
• Copyright Notice
• File Name
• Expiration Date
• number of Downloads Remaining
Clicking OK will download the attachment.
As part of the improvement, the Items from Other Libraries display has been updated as shown above so the item and requests details are in one section rather than broken out into sections for Item Details and Request Details.
The guest download process (for users not logged in) and the patron “Received with attachments” notice will be updated in future program updates.
(Didn't know about the ability to attach copies of articles within the NHAIS ILL System? That's covered in an on-demand video called Placing ILL Requests: Copies from Magazines.)
Finally, a change to the Stayed Too Long report is part of tonight's update. The “Date of Status Change” column is being moved so it will display as the last column in the report rather than before the new lender report columns for Current Borrower Code and Current Borrower Name and new borrower report columns for Current Lender Code and Current Lender Name.
