Shipping label update and "Unable to authenticate" error
Thursday, Dec. 23: Most of the problems with the Print Shipping Labels function that came with a redesign installed a week ago have now been corrected.
-Barcodes have been enlarged to scan properly
-When Unprinted labels are selected for printing, the screen will automatically refresh and the selected requests will move from the Unprinted to the Printed list.
-The Route To section of labels will now print up to four lines instead of cutting off the display after two lines (libraries with direct van service have two lines for their addresses in this section, libraries that pick up at another location have three lines for their addresses).
Still being worked on is an issue affecting some browsers where the print dialog box doesn't display the option to select portrait vs. landscape orientation. The font size and overall display are also being looked at.
Another recent issue, not connected to printing, affected libraries allowing patron-initiated ILL requesting. When new patrons tried to log into the ILL system (or staff tried to create a request with their barcodes), they saw an "Unable to authenticate" error message. This has been corrected.
