Change to patron view of attachments
The NHAIS ILL System will be offline for about two hours starting at 10 o'clock tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 17). This is longer than the usual 15-minute outage to accommodate a program update.
The patron view of no-longer-accessible attachments for non-returnable requests will be improved as part of tonight's update. Non-returnable attachments are accessible until the expiration date passes or the maximum number of allowed downloads is reached, whichever comes first. The patron view of the attachment has displayed a grayed-out download icon but the link still looked active, as in the example below. No action occurred nor did a message display if the link was clicked.
With tonight's update, the link to the attachment will also be grayed out to make it clear that the attachment is no longer accessible, as in the example below. The user can click the “I” icon to display the access settings: Upload Date, Expires Date, and Downloads Remaining.
To learn more about using attachments in the ILL system, see the 18-minute video on copies from magazines.
