Public Papers of the Presidents Ceases Paper Publication
As more and more Federal U.S. government information is made available online every library, in fact every citizen with an internet connection, gains access to more Federal documents. To help NH libraries keep up with these resources we are going to include occasional posts here on Federal Depository Library news and information.
The FDLP announced today:
"The Administrative Committee of the Federal Register issued a final rule on December 29, 2022, discontinuing the Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States (Public Papers). The Public Papers are discontinued as a whole, and the series will end with the Obama Administration; Public Papers will not be published for either the Trump or Biden Administrations. All published volumes of the Public Papers will continue to be available on GovInfo in the Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States collection.
Since 2009, presidential documents have been released in electronic format on a daily basis. Presidential documents, including transcripts of speeches, other spoken remarks, and photographs contained in the Public Papers, will continue to be published in the Compilation of Presidential Documents.
The final distributed volume of the Public Papers was Barack Obama (2016-2017, Book II). "
