Top lenders and borrowers
From the NHAIS mailbox: "Is there an avenue to create lists in NHAIS? We want to find out to whom we lend the most books (Top 5) and from whom we get the most books (again Top 5)."
There isn’t a ready-made report for that but you can get the info thus:
Go to Staff Dashboard > Statistics > Activity and Request Reports, enter a date range, select format EXCEL, and choose Net Activity. Optionally, you can say “no” to “Display each site…”, then click Submit.
Open the resulting file in a spreadsheet program. It's initially sorted by HSA code ("LibCode" column)...but you can sort on the Loans column to see your top borrowers (i.e., libraries to whom you lend the most books)...
Then sort on the Borrows column and there are your top lenders (i.e., the locations from which you get the most books).
You can ignore numbers in other columns but, if you're curious, “Copies” refers to nonreturnable requests like photocopies or PDFs of magazine articles. The Net Returnables column is calculated by subtracting Borrows from Loans while the Net Copies column subtracts Copies Received from Copies Provided in each row.
When sorting, you may encounter an error message saying "all the merged cells need to be the same size." Deleting the "Net Activity Report for [date range]" row at the top should make that problem go away.
