Downloads from old NHU-PAC to end

Most catalogers who were downloading records from the old NHU-PAC via a Z39.50 connection have switched over to getting records from the new NHU-PAC. If you're still getting records from the old database here are two important considerations: (1) the old NHU-PAC hasn't had any new records added to it since October 7 and (2) Z39.50 access to the old NHU-PAC will be shut off on Wednesday morning, December 18.

Configuration information for Z39.50 access to the new NHU-PAC is at the start of the Options for Downloading MARC Records from NHU-PAC document. How do you know whether you're searching the old or the new NHU-PAC? The direct way is to check the settings: if the server address is listed as nhais-service.auto-graphics.com or 18.221.221.248, you're good. If it says nhu-pac.nh.gov or 199.192.6.130, change your settings to what's listed in the Options for Downloading instructions. An indirect way to determine whether you're looking at the old or new NHU-PAC is to do an ISBN search for 9780316420327. If the search takes you to a record for the new James Patterson/James O. Born title Lost, you're looking at the current database; if not, it's time to make some changes.
