Latest ILL system enhancements
The NHAIS ILL System will be offline for up to 15 minutes starting around 10 o'clock tonight (Tuesday, August 18) to install enhancements and fixes:
-Building on previous changes simplifying matching for lender list builds where a standard number is present, the ILL system will now accept a match on publisher number (MARC tag 028 subfields a and b) without further validation. If there's an 028a but not 028b present, a title check (245a) will be performed to confirm a match. The publisher number check occurs after ISBN, ISSN, LCCN, OCLC number, and UPC checks.
-In List view and brief browse display, links in 856 tags did not display properly and clicking them resulted in an error. The URL will now correctly display and be clickable as a link.
-Holiday List ("vacation") dates entered in the Participant Record (by NHAIS Services on your behalf) will now skip the lender for the entire specified period without factoring in the Days to Respond value (4). Prior to this release, if the Days to Respond value was longer than the remaining holiday period, the request was sent to the lender. For example, if a library was set for an ILL vacation from 08/02/2020 to 08/22/2020, they would start received Pending requests on 08/20/2020 because they would be open on 8/23. This could result in a large number of Pending requests waiting when the library re-opened. With this change, new Pending requests won’t be sent to the lender until 8/23. Note that all NHAIS libraries are currently configured as "on vacation" for lending purposes through September 14. That end date has been changed many times since March and is likely to be adjusted further.
