A note on van service from the State Librarian
Dear Colleagues:
As we move forward to start interlibrary loan, we are collecting materials from our NHAIS members to be sorted and returned to the owners. Yesterday I instructed the drivers to pick one bin from each library. We have limited space at the State library to sort and store ILL materials so we need to slow down this process. Most importantly however is the safety of the drivers. Overloading the vans is unsafe and there is no need to overtax the drivers; two days ago the temp reach 95F in Concord with the heat index was well over 100. If you have questions, concerns or complaints about this change in the process please contact me 271 2397, 497 7432 michael.york@dncr.nh.gov. This change in the way we are handling the pick-ups is my decision not that of the drivers.
Sincerely,
Mike
