No new ILL's yet
State Library vans are back on the road, working this week and next to get materials back in the hands of owning libraries. Once received, owning libraries should Check In their materials as outlined in a previous post.
Some users have asked "As a borrowing library, should I mark everything I'm sending back Returned?" Well, you can--but please don't. In order to expedite the return of materials, borrowing libraries need only put the materials in the van bin for pickup--with an appropriate routing slip, of course.
And what about placing new ILL requests? Well, you can place the request--but please don't because it won't get anywhere. Because all NHAIS ILL libraries are currently configured as being "on vacation" in the system, any new requests will immediately go to either Retry or Unfilled status.
Under present circumstances, both marking requests as Returned and placing new requests is a waste of your time--but at least it won't waste anybody else's time. We'll let you know when it's time to return to placing and filling requests using the NHAIS ILL System; no date has been set yet.
