NHAIS ILL System briefly offline Thursday night 12/3

As part of ongoing work to improve search performance in SHAREit, the NHAIS ILL System will be offline for no more than 15 minutes starting at 10 o'clock tonight (Thursday, Dec. 3).

The only change you may see from tonight's work is if you've selected just one search resource from the list of (as of today) 131 catalogs, including the union catalog, that the system is configured to search. Where previously you might see a "1 Search Resources Remaining" message if the search took longer than 3-5 seconds, now it will say "Searching 1 resource." That may change again with further improvements expected next month.

Implementation of various searching improvements is scheduled to be completed in January. "As a result," Auto-Graphics says, "search results will come back faster, and, in combination with the 'Did You Mean' improvements from the last release, will present speedier and more focused results."
