Catalog "hit count" list
A new feature added with last night's program update of the NHAIS ILL System is a list of "hit counts" from the various catalogs searched. It doesn't change how your ILL requests are processed but adds an option for those who miss having an at-a-glance look at what's where. To see the list, hover your cursor over the underlined count of results:
Remember to wait for the search to finish and click the Add to Results Now button (if present) to make sure you're seeing results from all locations. Also note that using the facets on the left of the screen to limit what's displayed in the results doesn't change the catalog hit count, which is for the underlined number--the results of your original search. In the example below, you can see the hit-count list is the same although the publisher was limited to Penguin Audio:And one more thing: what you see in the list doesn't govern where your ILL request will go. If you've chosen to search just a handful of catalogs, those are all you'll see in the list of hit counts but that has no bearing whatsoever on the locations considered by the process that builds the lender list for your request.
