Multi-copy issue fixed plus searching and facets enhancements Tue 5/18

In recent weeks we've advised allowing at least 5 minutes between submitting different multi-copy requests from the same login because lender lists for these requests were getting mixed up. A fix for the bug leading to that advice is to be installed tonight (Tuesday, May 18) starting at 10 o'clock. The NHAIS ILL System will be offline for up to 15 minutes to facilitate the update, which also includes these fixes and enhancements:

-Stemming has now been implemented to facilitate better search results. A search for "run" will rank results with "run" as most relevant but will also find results for "running." Likewise, a search for "lion" or "lion's" will find results for the term "lions." In all cases, the records with the exact term searched by the user will be ranked as more relevant than the related stemming results.

-When you open a facet (Format, Author, Date, etc., on the left side of the results screen) and scroll down to the bottom of the shown values, there may be a link to "Show More" values within that facet. Currently, the screen refreshes and takes users to the top of the screen when the "Show More" link is clicked. With this release, the "Show More" link will now expand the facet value list without a page refresh and users will stay in their place on the page to continue browsing the facet values.

-If the selected facet value fell under the "Show More" link, then the "chip" to remove your selections did not always appear. Now, any selection from a facet will show a "chip" at the top of the results for easy access.
