ILL fixes Thu 5/12

Have you seen the bottom of the screen go blank when navigating in the NHAIS ILL System in recent weeks? Have you seen a "Sorry, something went wrong" message after launching a search? Have you needed to click the Search icon or hit the <Enter> key more than once to launch a search? These and other bugs are being addressed in an update scheduled for installation tonight (Thursday, May 12). Expect the NHAIS ILL System to be unavailable for about 15 minutes starting at 10 o'clock.

Also being fixed tonight: on the Advanced Search page, if a user began typing in the second or third Search Term field before the rest of the page loaded, the cursor would auto-focus to the first Search Term field when the page fully loaded. That sometimes led to the first letters of a term being in the second or third Search Term field while the end was found in the first Search Term field. This has been corrected; the Advanced Search page will load much faster so the cursor won’t auto-focus if users are already typing in the second or third field. (Remember that not all catalogs can properly respond to searches specified on the Advanced Search page.)

Also being addressed: requests in Conditional status (an option selected by a prospective lender) could remain in that status until the need-by date passed if the borrower did not accept or reject the condition. With tonight's update, requests in Conditional status that are not accepted or rejected by the borrower will move out of that status and become Pending at the next potential lender on the lender list after 3 full days. As before, if the need-by date passes while a request is in Conditional status it will change to Expired.
