Selecting resources in NHAIS ILL System

The NHAIS Help Desk has recently heard from several users of the NHAIS ILL System wondering where all the catalogs went. They're still there but you may need an extra click to see them. If you get to the Resources page (by clicking on the "stack-o'-pancakes" icon to the left of the search box) and this is all you see...

...click on either set of diagonally pointing arrows on the right side of the screen and voilĂ !:

If you just need to select all catalogs after having a few selected, you can click the box to the left of Library Catalogs. When it shows a check mark, all catalogs are selected. If the box is blank, no catalogs are selected. A minus sign indicates some but not all catalogs are selected.

As an alternative to clicking that box, you could use the Clear All and Check All buttons to do what they say. The Set Default button will apply the list of selected catalogs at Your Account (near top right of screen) > Your Settings > Your Favorite Resources. A different set of favorite resources can be associated with each of the three different logins assigned to your library.

If you're doing ILL, remember that limiting the catalogs searched on this page has absolutely no effect on which libraries end up in your lender list. For ILL, it's generally best to leave all catalogs selected. For cataloging, you may want to have just the NHU-PAC selected. The NHU-PAC has 1.4 million MARC bibliographic records for NHAIS member libraries to download. You can request that a record be added to the NHU-PAC through the NHAIS MARC Record Request Form (accessible through the New MARC Records link in the NHAIS ILL System).
