ILL fixes and enhancements Thu 10/13
The NHAIS ILL System will be offline tonight (Thursday, Oct. 13) starting at 10 o'clock. The system should be back online within 15 minutes. This service interruption is to allow program updates.
-Changes have been made to improve the relevance of search results. Increased weight will be given to series titles in MARC tag 490 while alternate titles in tag 246 will be given less weight. Also, a slight relevance boost will be given to newly published material (from the last two years) on the assumption that newer materials are likely to be more relevant than older titles (when all other relevance rankings are equal).
-Users will now have the ability to save their default number of search results to display. This is the follow-up to an enhancement released in September, which added the dropdown for number of results to display on the search results page. A default can be set in Your Account > Your Preferences > Number of Search Results to Display. As on the search results page, the default is 40, but can be changed to 20, 60, 80, or 100.
As with all of Your Preferences, this setting is based on login/username.
-Call numbers should now display in full in cases where they had previously been truncated because parts of the call numbers were transmitted by Z-servers in repeated subfields. For example, some catalogs in the system send the call number J CD Audio Rowling as these subfields of tag 852: $hJ $iCD $iAudio $iRowling. The ILL program didn't recognize the repeated subfield i's and displayed the call number as J CD.
